Male Choir "Brodosplit" was founded in 1972. This choir has become one of the most appreciated male choirs in Croatia throughout its work, wide range of numerous performances, interesting programmes, valuable interpretations, distinctive sonority and compact quality of voices.

SANG SCHUMANN BETTER THAN GERMANS
As a rule, the City Choir "Brodosplit" returns from different parts of the world winning gold medals. Such was the case last weekend when the "Brodosplit" golden vocal cords competed the 7th International Choir Competition "Robert Schumann " in Zwickau in Germany, where they won the highest medals - gold winning medal in the category of male choirs, gold medal in category of sacred music and the special prize of the jury for the best performance of the work of Robert Schumann that shows the level of vocal performance since the choirs competed in Schumann's hometown.The event was attended by 16 choirs from Germany, France, Iran, Latvia, Norway, Russia, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Belarus and Croatia.
Organizer "Interkultur" expressed their great honor to invite "Brodosplit" to open competition and that was the best possible way to present the cultural heritage of Split, Dalmatia and Croatia. Multiple award-winning conductor and choir director Vlado Sunko presented the choir to an international audience and jury with compositions by Schumann, Boris Papandopulo, Franz Biebl, Ivan pl. Zajc, Eric Whitacre, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Ljubo Stipišić, Josip Hatze and Vlado Sunko.This extremely demanding competition, they performed five times in three days, was truly fruitful and choir has earned a "stand-up" ovations wherever they performed, as well as admiration and congratulation of the audience, world known choirs, conductors and the jury. Singers will long cherish concerts in Reichenbach and final concert in Zwickau, where the audience with acclamation, shouting and entry requested coming back of "Brodosplit" on the stage and new performances, as well as choirs please for autographs and photographing. Because of difficult financial situation the choir "Brodosplit" is grateful to the sponsors: "Brodosplit", City of Split, County and the Ministry of Culture who recognized their quality and the need for presentation of Croatian culture in the world. Good mood "Brodosplit" singers their golden medals and awards dedicated to their recently in Zadar victimized brave singer Tony Vidovic, to wish him a fast recovery and return to the choir.

At the suggestion of the Arts Academy in Split and his vice-dean Branko Matulić, for the merits that the choir "Brodosplit" had as a propagator of cultural heritage, and winner of international awards in choral singing, among other things, as Olympic champion in choral singing, Croatian President Ivo Josipović honoured us with the recognition Povelja Republike Hrvatske and our maestro Vlado Sunko with Medal of the order of Croatian Danica with figure of Marko Marulić, which is awarded to Croatian and foreign citizens for special merits in culture. The president is clearly recognized our merits, he knew it before also, and today he decided to honor us . ...
